Ranchi is capital city of Jharkhand state but it is quite small and less crowded in compare to other capital city of India. Tribal region of Bihar was separated in year 2000 and Jharkhand was formed. You can say, city of Ranchi still retaining its old tradition. And apart from some tourist places the tribal culture is among the top attractions of Ranchi.
Majorities of people in Ranchi belongs to tribal class, they are indigence people of country. People of this region are very close to mother nature, and spend their life with minimum exploitation of natural resources. Ranchi has also served as summer capital of Bihar state before independence. Still, you can see a glimpse of British architecture in the old buildings of the Ranchi.
Ranchi is not very popular as a tourists destination but home of M S Dhoni become an attraction of Ranchi, the famous caption of Indian cricket team. Although, during your visit to Ranchi you can visit some places such as Pahadi mandir and Jagannath Temple.
Jagannath temple, Ranchi- This temple share the religious theme with well known Jagannath Temple of Puri, one of the main Char Dham of India. Temple architecture and idol of Lord Jagannath also quite similar to Puri temple.
This is very old temple situated on the outskirt of the city on an elevated location. This temple provide you nice view of he surroundings, that make it picture perfect place.
Pahadi Mandir- A Shiva temple and most notable attraction of the city. here, you have to climb almost 400 steps to reach main temple that is situated on the top of small hill(Pahadi ).
It is a nice place to test your fitness and to have a nice view of the Ranchi city from the top. An Indian flag of remarkable height hosted adjacent to the temple. You can also have a view of Ranchi Lake from the temple.
Rock Garden Ranchi- It is favorite place of the young generation of the Ranchi city. Very well decorated park with existing rock. This Garden share periphery with Ranchi lake. In the evening park illuminate with decorated lighting, one snack cafe is also there.
Ranchi Lake- A big and beautiful lake of the city and can be seen from the Rock Garden and Pahadi Mandir. It was constructed during British period and still well maintained. This lake has boating facility, you can enjoy your time with your family and click some nice picture.
Nakshatra van- Nakshatra van is another attraction of the city. It is a park developed by forest department and very close to residence of Jharkhand Governor.
This is a perfect place to spend time with your family, it has musical fountain and boating facility. People interested in different kind of tree and medicinal plant also get opportunity to explore many such option.
Every food which was used to be identity of some state become nationalized nowadays. Here in Ranchi, on the street of Bahu Bazar you can start your day with healthy breakfast of Idli (commonly known as South Indian food).
Trying this was a wonderful experience, it is quite tasty along with pocket friendly. Even their way of attending customer is so heart warming. Whenever you get a chance please wake up early and try these street food by locals.
Hundru Fall- Ranchi city also known as city of waterfall. Among which Hundru waterfall is most notable which is 100 feet high water of Subarnrekha river. It is located around 45 Km from the city and a perfect weekend gateway. This place offer picture perfect view of the fall and surroundings.
Dassam Fall- Another important waterfall lies in opposite direction of Hundru fall and around 40 km from the city near Taimara village. This waterfall formed by Kanchi River having a height of 140 feet.

Air: Birsa Munda airport, Ranchi is located around 6 km from the city. City like Patna, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai are well connected to Ranchi by regular flights.
Rail: Ranchi itself has a railway station in the middle of city. And other twin station of the city is at Hatia, these station are well connected to other major cities of India.
Road: City is well connected to several other cities in Jharkand and Bihar by state road transport buses like Patna, Jamshedpur and many other. Even luxury bus also available on these route. Mostly buses are operate in night time so plan accordingly.
