Valley of Flowers National Park is located near Joshimath in West Himalaya, in the state of Uttarakhand and it is known for thousands of varieties of flowers. The park located at 3352 to 3658 meters above sea level and stretches over an expanse of 87.50 km2 and it is about 8 km long and 2 km wide. Some species of flowers found here are endemic. Many plants and flower found here have magical medicinal value. There are some variety of flowers you cannot found anywhere else not even other parts of Uttrakhand. The valley is like heaven for the nature lovers, photographer and for those who researches on flora-fauna. This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, musk deer, brown bear, red fox, and blue sheep. Various kinds of mountain birds you will find here that also include Himalayan monal.
The Valley of Flowers is a high-altitude Himalayan valley that has long been acknowledged by renowned mountaineers, botanists, and in literature. It has been recognized internationally for over a century. Local people and yogis have visited the valley since ancient times. The valley was declared a national park in 1982 and now it is a World Heritage Site.
The best time to visit Valley of Flowers is between June to August, then you can valley full of flowers.
